Video: Museum of Play Houses Some of the World's Rarest Arcade Games

Head over to the National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, and you can get your hands on some of the few working examples of the world’s rarest arcade games.

While visiting the museum earlier this year to get an exclusive look at its recent acquisition of 7,000 classic Japanese videogames, I checked out the other exhibits at the massive museum of toys and games. One currently features a classic boardwalk-style amusement area filled with some of the best-known pieces of vintage arcade history — and a variety of ones you may never have seen before.

In this episode of Game|Life, join me as I try out just a few, including Atari’s biggest pinball machine — so big it uses a pool cue ball — and play the rarest game of Tetris ever.

To close things out, we get exclusive access into the basement archives of the Museum and find an amazing piece of Nintendo history that I’ve never laid eyes on before. (And I’ve been to California Extreme!)
