Twenty-five years ago, there was a massive onslaught of national food chains in the peaceful town of New Hampshire. Many people were gobsmacked by the tremendous changes going on in their little village but the Barstow Brothers, Jeff and Chris, had greater things in mind.
The brothers began preparing for their counterattack and went on consulting experts on the hottest trends of restaurant designs, menu styles and consumer tastes. They also delved into restaurant business development, inventory management and costing. Not so long later, Jeff and Chris launched their company, Favorite Foods, with only a single van and a brilliant plan to distribute dry goods to restaurants. Even when they had no prior experience on direct distribution, and had never actually owned or operated a company, they were somewhat confident that they could provide excellent services to the restaurants in their area.
? And they did, and still do!
Today, Favorite Foods is already a booming company with a $30 million annual revenue. It employs over 50 employees, operates on a 50,000 square foot distribution center and runs a dozen of trucks. The company?s geographic scope spans the entire of New Hampshire as well as the Maine Seacoast. While Jeff has moved on to his other areas of interests, Chris remains to be in control of the company, serving as the President and chief executive officer. Each and every day, he ensures that the same philosophies and values are being applied to the operations of Favorite Foods, starting from manufacturing down to customer service. Its goals revolve around helping restaurants market themselves a lot better, purchase higher-quality restaurant commodities and services, and constantly improve the entire value of their food establishments, all the while keeping in tune with the standards of national chains.
No doubt, it is easy to say that Favorite Foods has come a really long way since its humble beginnings in 1987, and during the entire process of its development, the company has earned an invaluable reputation for its client-centered and highly-developed approach towards doing business.
